Oculus:
Developed by West Virginia University to be the first of its kind roll-on-roll-off C-130 palletized sensor bay, the Oculus allows unprecedented flexibility for C-130 reconnaissance.
Capable of being loaded and unloaded in a matter of minutes Oculus converts any C-130 into a platform capable of handling nearly any ISR mission payload requirement. With a large sensor bay, the Oculus is capable of handling most and payload including multi-spectral, hyper-spectral, thermal, EMINT, COMINT, SAR, as well as many others.
In addition to being a roll on roll of pallet, every Oculus comes equipped with an INS (Inertial Navigation Sensor) provided by Airborne Data Systems. This INS is completely sharable thru either a 1553 buss or RS-422, allowing any sensor on board to have shared navigation and targeting solutions.
Oculus Advantages:
Roll on roll of ease of use
Full two-person workstation for sensor operators
Fully integrated stand-alone guidance and navigation
Operates with aircraft power
No aircraft integration required
